Activities: Arts, Crafts, & Workshops

FilAmFest will have many activities for our visitors of all ages! Be sure to visit our community partners’ tents throughout the festival grounds to see what activity you would like to learn and participate in!

 

  • Visit the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS-SD) booth to learn more about the Filipino American experience in San Diego

 

  • Traditional cultural music and dance workshops with PASACAT and Samahan Filipino American Arts & Education

 

  • Filipino arts & crafts will be done with San Diego Public Library Skyline Hills Branch and Bayan Student group from , Southwestern College

 

  • Asian International Association of Sweetwater High will be doing Sarimanok Storytelling, a colorful craft highlighting the Sarimanok, a legendary bird of the Maranao people who originate from Mindanao, a major island in the Philippines.  It is said to be a symbol of good fortune! Children of all ages will enjoy creating a collage of colors to create their own unique Sarimanok!
